Reference projects performed by
Our main expertise lies in the development of embedded software for the automotive industry, including areas such as AUTOSAR, Functional Safety, and ASPICE. Because of our experience in the automotive field, we are accustomed to developing high-quality software that complies with demanding industry standards.
Over the last few years, we have worked with multiple automotive OEMs on a variety of ECU projects. Take a look at our reference projects to get an impression of our experience.

Battery Management System for 12V LiIon Battery (ASIL C)
A German OEM Battery Management System (BMS) for a 12V Li-Ion battery. The main purpose of the battery is to provide a safe power supply for e.g. autonomous driving systems, while also significantly improving weight, dimensions, and lifetime compared to common lead-acid batteries.
Uniqolab took part in this project in the role of Basic Software (BSW) Architect. The software of this BMS contains a model-based application developed in Simulink and an AUTOSAR-compliant BSW. Since the purpose of the project is to provide a safe power supply, it has an Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) C.
Some main challenges of this project
The OEM required to have one BMS with only one software (no variant coding or calibration) to support two vehicle platforms that both require a different communication bus
Usage of model based software development to be integrated by the BSW team
The hardware contains multiple complex safety relevant SOCs (System On Chip) that required dedicated complex drivers
Main activities performed by Uniqolab are
Support on safety concept design to comply with MCU and Software capabilities
Support on ASIL decomposition on MCU and SW level
Software requirements development (SWE.1)
BSW Architecture design (SWE.2)
Implementation of several components and complex drivers (SWE.3)
Review of test specifications
Support on test case review and results
Take part in task force team for issue containment
Support on testing/debugging events required by OEM
Transmission Control Unit for Hybrid Dual Clutch Transmission (ASIL C)
A French OEM Transmission Control Unit (TCU) for Hybrid Dual Clutch Transmission. The Transmission Control Unit (TCU) serves as the brain behind a vehicle’s transmission system. Its primary purpose is to manage and optimize the operation of the transmission to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe driving conditions.
Uniqolab took part in this project in the role of Basic Software (BSW) Architect / Product Owner. The software of this TCU contains a model-based application developed in Simulink and an AUTOSAR-compliant BSW. The TCU and its software have an ASIL C.
Main activities performed by Uniqolab are
Software architecture and implementation review
Open issues tracking, investigation and solving
Take lead in software supplier alignments
